Anantha Padmanabha Irwathraya, the youngest son of  Anantha Irwathraya – 2 stayed at Vodeel  looking after his share of the ancestral property. His nick name was Kuppanna. We used to call him as Vodeel Ajja. He was a lien personality with fair complexion, some times looking with slightly squint eye, as I remember him.  He married Roopy. But Roopy deserted him and returned to live with her parents, for the reasons clearly not known. For a long time, Vodeel Ajja lived alone, and after waiting for long,  he went for a second marriage. Puttakka was his second wife.  Puttakka died after giving the following four children for him:

2.       Wife Puttakka :   Daughter – Subbalakshmi (Subbu)

                                             (w/o Venkatakrishna)

                            Son – Narayana Irwathraya (Radha Chikkappa)

                                     (first wife – Sharade, second wife – Rathnavathi)

                            Daughter – Rama Devi

                                             (w/o  Narayana Parlathaya)

                            Son – Shivarama Irwathraya

                                      (wife Saraswathi)

Vodeel Ajja got his first son Narayana Irwathraya married to a girl named Sharade, who was the daughter of Priest Yedapadithaya of Shabaradi near Kokkada.  After marriage, Sharade refused to live with her husband at Vodeel, and even after much reconciliatory meetings, she never returned to Vodeel from her parent’s house.  One of my hostel mate (Subramanya Balthillaya) met me recently and informed me that, Sharade was in love with a Hayak boy much younger to her in age, who was frequently visiting her parental house. He also informed that, she had eloped with her lover and the lovers continue to lead their life at Coimbatore running a small hotel. He further informed that Sharade and her lover, both had dies recently, leaving their two children.

After the above failed marriage, Narayana Irwathraya (popularly known as Radha chikkappa) married Rathnavathi, and had the following three children:

1.       First wife – Sharade -: No children

2.       Second wife – Rathnavathi : son – Prasanna

                                           Daughter – Pavithra (w/o Durga Prasad)

                                           Daughter – Aruna (w/o  Ramakrishna)

Narayana Irwathraya lived with poverty at Halekote, and was assisting Appayyu Chikkappa and Mohana Anna in Pourohithya, Pooja etc.  After conducting the marriage of his two daughters, he died due to ill health.

Subbalakshmi (Subbu) the first daughter of Vodeel Ajja, was married to Venkata Krishna. She had four children :

                                      Son – Subraya (unmarried)

                                      Daughter – Shantha

                                      Daughter – Padmavathi

Sreenivasa & Pushpa  has got following three children

1.       Son – Krishna

2.       Daughter – Lakshmi (W/O Raghavendra)

3.       Daughter – Anasuya

4.       Daughter – Ambika

Rama Devi the second daughter of Vodeel Ajja. She was married to Narayana Parlathaya and had Six children:

W/O Narayana Parlathaya :    Daughter – Sumathi (W/O Sreenivasa)

                                                  Daughter – Shantha (W/O Balakrishna)

                                                  Son – Radhakrishna (wife Devaki)

                                                  Son – Prasad (married)

                                                  Daughter – Sukanya (married)

                                                  Daughter – Vasanthi (W/O Ramachandra)

Radhakrishna & Devaki have got two children namely Ravi & Ramya.

Shivarama Irwathraya, the second son of Vodeel Ajja was looking after the entire agricultural activities at Vodeel property. He was a very hard worker. He married Saraswathi and had six children.:

Bhagyalakshmi & Gururaja have got two children namely Hamsini & Shriharsha.

Vodeel Ajja (Anantha Padmanabha Irwathraya) died due to old age. Soon after his death, his first wife Roopy  unexpectedly returned to Vodeel, and started living with Shivarama Chikkappa’s family. She thereafter lived at Vodeel till her death. Shivarama Chikkappa also died recently.
